Our practice is led by Dr. Krishnaswamy Gajaraj, MD, MBBS, DPM, and Shirnett Khorran-Gajaraj, MPH, MSN, PMHNP-BC, two highly skilled providers with a combined 50+ years of experience in mental health care. Together, they offer a unique blend of clinical excellence and patient-centered care, ensuring each individual receives personalized treatment tailored to their needs.

Dr. Krishnaswamy Gajaraj

MD, MBBS, DPM

Dr. Krishnaswamy Gajaraj, MD, MBBS, DPM, has over 50 years of experience in general, forensic, adult, and geriatric psychiatry. He is the current medical director at HRI Hospital in Brookline, MA, where he has served for the past 19 years. Dr. Gajaraj has previously been the medical director at Brockton Hospital and also held the position of medical director at Starr Psychiatric Center in Brockton, Massachusetts. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association (APA). He specializes in treating adults and geriatric populations with Depression, Dementia, Anxiety Disorders, Bipolar Disorders, Manic Depressive Illnesses, PTSD, Alcohol use disorder, Opiate treatment, Suboxone Treatment, Schizophrenia, and sleep disorders.

Shirnett Khorran-Gajaraj

MPH, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Shirnett Khorran-Gajaraj, MPH, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC has dedicated many years to the medical profession, accumulating a wealth of diverse experiences across countries she has lived and traveled. She holds degrees from New York University (NYU), Grace University, UMass Amherst, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS), and Emory University.

Shirnett’s professional journey includes teaching nursing courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She has made significant contributions to academia by developing syllabi and reviewing journals and manuscripts. Shirnett’s interests center around psychiatric mental health, public health, and healthcare for marginalized populations, particularly women and children.

Active in various professional associations, Shirnett is a member of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, the Anti-Defamation League, the American Public Health Association, and the Massachusetts Public Health Association. Shirnett practices in MA and specializes in treating individuals aged 16 and above with depression, anxiety, PTSD, mood disorders, schizophrenia, sleep disorders, substance use disorders, ADHD, and dual diagnosis.
